Q. How long will it take to receive the first issue of my subscription?

A.

Our publications are printed about five weeks in advance. This is the reason subscriber copies are despatched before they go on sale in the shops, therefore it can take a few weeks for your subscription to begin. If you wish your subscription to start sooner or to delay the start of the subscription to coincide with a specific time (e.g. a birthday), please call our Customer Service team on Freephone 0800 904 7260 (UK) or +44 (0)1382 575322 (Overseas). Subscriptions to This England, Evergreen Scottish Wedding Directory and Scottish Caravans & Motorhomes will typically start sooner as they commence with the current issue. Q. How long does it take for my free gift to arrive?

A.

Your free gift can take up to 28 days to arrive. If you are using Direct Debit as your subscription payment method, the free gift will be held until 2 weeks after we receive your first Direct Debit payment.  

Q. Can my free gift be sent to the billing address?

A.

Subscription welcome gifts will be sent to the recipient of each gift subscription or to the bill payer for self-recipient orders. For This England and Evergreen subscription orders, welcome gifts will be sent directly to the bill payer only. Unfortunately it is not possible to send the subscription free gifts to any other address.  

Q. I would like to order a back issue of a magazine/paper – how do I do this?

A.

Alternatively you can post payment to us at DC Thomson Shop, PO Box 766, Haywards Heath, RH16 7GF. Please include your full name, address and name and date of the publication you would like to purchase.  

Q. Can I order a subscription/product to an overseas address?

Yes, you can order to an overseas address - please ensure you select the overseas price rate on our website accordingly and enter the Shipping Address at the checkout.  

Q. How do I cancel my subscription?

A.

Q. I've not received my magazine/newspaper – can I claim a replacement?

Q. How do I renew an existing subscription online?

A.

Just click on the "Manage My Subscription" button on the homepage (top right corner) and enter your Subscription Account Number and Surname or Postcode to log-in and renew your existing subscription.  

Q. How do I access my subscriber account online?

A.

The Manage My Subscription section of the website is the easiest way to stay in control of your account If you have an active subscription within the last 6 months you can access Manage My Subscription using your Subscriber Account Number. You will also be asked for your Surname or Postcode. Here's how to get started: Just click on the "Manage My Subscription" button on the homepage (top right corner)
  1. Type your Subscriber Account Number
  2. Type your own Surname or Postcode, not the recipient’s.
  3. If you want to, you may select ‘Remember me?’ from a private device for faster log-in next time.
  4. Click ‘Log in’ to access your account.
When you log in to your account, you will be able to do the following:

Q. Where can I find my Subscriber Account Number?

A.

You can find your Subscriber Account Number from your welcome letter or email that we sent confirming the start date of the subscription. Your Subscriber Account Number can also be found on the address label on each magazine that we post to you and any renewal reminder notifications that we may have sent you.  

Q. I don't have my Subscriber Account Number handy, can this be resent?

A.

If you have an email address registered to your subscriber account, you can request a reminder to be resent. Click here to enter your details. The resend request will be sent to the email account with which you registered. Alternatively, if you need help to find your Subscriber Account Number or for any other information about your account, please contact our Customer Service Team by phone 0800 904 7260 (for UK residents) and +44 1382 575322 (for residents outside the UK) or contact us. We're available to help you from 8am to 6pm, Mon- Fri (GMT).  

Q. When ordering a subscription as a gift what will the payee and recipient receive, and when?

A.

The payee will receive order confirmation by email / post after placing their order as they would normally. Recipients will receive their first issue on the date specified at the time of purchase and a gift card if requested by the payee at the time of ordering. If a gift message is entered at online checkout and mentions Christmas it will be held until mid-December then sent to the recipient. Other gift messages will be dispatched immediately. If the order is placed over the phone the payee can request a blank gift card to write themselves and this is posted out immediately. The deadline for ordering a physical gift card to arrive with UK recipients in time for Christmas is 14th December. We continue to dispatch physical cards if the gift message is entered, but they may arrive after Christmas. Gift cards are not available on Beano Shop prepay orders or orders via Puzzler.com.  

Q. What is the expected delivery time for products?

A.

Most of our products are delivered within 7-14 days, but if these products are from a third party they can take up to 28 days.

Q. Will I receive confirmation of my Direct Debit?

A.

A confirmation letter will be posted out to you which you should receive within 10 days of ordering. This will detail your payment dates and amounts. You will also receive a letter if any changes are made to your Direct Debit such as a payment date/amount change.

Q. How can I be sure that my online order has been accepted?

A.

We will e-mail you to confirm receipt of your order. You can also check your order if you log in to your account and check under 'My Orders'. Your order should have a status of 'Confirmed' of it has been accepted.

Q. How do I return a product that is incorrect/damaged?

A.

Q. I have ordered a Personalised Gift, how do I upload the photos?

Simply add to your basket and your detailed instruction email will be with you in 2 working days. This email will give you details on how to upload your images and how to specify any personalisation you would like on your canvas. Q. My order status says it has been 'confirmed' but I have not received it?

A.

Don't worry, this means your order has been accepted on the website. We are in the process of picking, packing your items and sending them out to you.

Q. How long does it take for an address/name change to take effect?

A.

As our publications and carrier sheets are printed in advance, it can take up to five weeks for an address change to take effect. If you have consequently missed issues however, please contact our Customer Services team who can arrange a replacement for you.

Q. How do I download a Digital Edition?

A.

Once you have an online subscription you can choose to read your magazine issues by logging in to the respective subscription page via your PC and/or the accompanying apps. Our digital edition apps are available in the Apple, Android and Amazon Kindle stores. See below for a step-by-step guide on how to download our apps for your device. On an iPad or iPhone
  1. Locate the App Store icon and tap once. In the search field at the top right, type the name of the magazine.
  2. Tap on the GET button within the search result.
  3. Then tap on the INSTALL button to install. The app will now begin to download.
  4. A box will then appear on your screen asking for your Apple ID password. Type in your Apple ID – or iTunes account – password and tap OK.
  5. When the app has installed, the button will say OPEN. Tap this to open the app.
  6. Once the app is open, tap on any issue to log in to the app with the same details as your online subscription. We advise you purchase subscriptions via the respective subscription page and access the app via the 'Already Subscribed?' box.
On a Kindle
  1. In your Kindle Fire home screen, type the name of the magazine into the search field at the top
  2. In the search result, tap on the app and then the orange DOWNLOAD button.
  3. When the download of the app is complete tap on the orange OPEN button.
  4. Once the app is open, tap on any issue to log in to the app with the same details as your online subscription. We advise you purchase subscriptions via the respective subscription page and access the app via the 'Login with your existing subscription' box.
On an Android Device
  1. Go to the Google Play store. In the search field, type the name of the magazine.
  2. From within the search results, tap on the app icon followed by the green INSTALL button.
  3. An 'App permissions' panel will appear, tap the green 'ACCEPT' button to start the installation of the app.
  4. Now tap on the 'OPEN' button to open the app.
  5. Once the app is open, tap on any issue to log in to the app with the same details as your online subscription. We advise you purchase subscriptions via the respective subscription page and access the app via the 'Login with your existing subscription' box.

Q. How much does a subscription to a Digital Edition work and how much does it cost?

A.

The app is free to download, but to access the issues you will need to take out a subscription. See the respective subscription page for pricing details. A subscription grants access to the entire archive of digital editions for a specified period of time. This is the perfect option if you wish to read your favourite magazine without taking up all the space on your device: simply log in to access all editions in the archive without retaining every issue in storage.

Q. How do I renew my subscription?

A.

To renew your subscription, go to the respective subscription page. Log into your account and select Purchase Subscription from the left hand menu. You will then be taken to the subscription page again but this time your details will already be filled out. Select the subscription type you want to purchase and then select Subscribe. On the payments website, follow the instructions on the secure payment website. After the payment process has been completed you will either be redirected to the publication or your account page.

Q. Is there a way to access permanent issues without subscribing?

A.

In some of our digital editions we offer single editions. These remain permanently accessible in the app unless you choose to delete the editions from your device. Please see in-app or the respective subscription page for confirmation.

Q. How do I manage single editions from my device?

A.

To remove single editions, tap on the download icon from the top bar in the app and delete issues no longer required. If you would like to re download the issue, you can do at a later date. The app will recognise that editions were purchased previously and allow download for free.

Q. How do I update my details or reset my password?

A.

To update your details, log in to the subscription page and select the Update Details link in your account. Select the Change Password link to reset your password.

Q. I have forgotten my password, how can I gain access to my subscriptions?

A.

On the subscription page, select the Forgotten your Password link underneath the username and password fields. Enter your registered email address/username and select Send Details. An automated email will be sent to your registered email address with an automatically generated password you can change later.

Q. Is there an alternative way to download Digital Editions?

A.

You can also download and purchase a subscription for a digital edition solely via the apps. However, this does not grant access to the browser edition and we would not have your details to assist you with customer account or billing queries. If you choose to access your editions via app-only you can buy an in-app purchase via the My Subscriptions panel (iPad/iPhone) or the Purchase a Subscription button (Kindle/ Android) Please note that if you take out a subscription via the app store, it will auto-renew unless cancelled during the subscription period.

Q. Can I download and read issues offline later?

A.

Yes. At any time during the duration of your subscription period, you can download an issue, read later offline. To do so, click on the download button under each issue. You can now turn off your Wi-Fi and access issues offline by tapping on the download icon on the top bar.

Q. How much is it for delivery?

A.

For Subscriptions delivery is included in the price, this applies for UK & overseas subscriptions For Products delivery per order is; £3.95 for delivery within the UK, £14.99 for delivery to Europe and £19.99 for delivery to the rest of the world.
